He was seen feeding migratory birds in Ganga River.
Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan had landed himself in trouble after he breached the bird-flu guidelines during his recent visit to Varanasi, as the matter of him feeding migratory birds during the boat ride has now reached the Varanasi Court on Thursday (January 29).
Recently, Dhawan visited Kashi and even enjoyed a boat ride in the Ganga River, but doing so he found himself in controversy for feeding the migratory birds on the boat despite there were strict regulations to avoid any contract with the birds keeping in mind the risk of bird-flu.
Notably, the Varanasi District administration has already banned the feeding of migratory birds in view of precautionary safety due to bird flu fears and the ace cricketer was reportedly stopped by the boatman from doing that but he started feeding without caring about this order.
Dhawan even shared pictures of him doing so on his Instagram handle, violating the order of the administration and now a complaint and charge sheet has been filed against the cricketer.
Siddharth Srivastava, an advocate of Raja Anand Jyoti Singh, resident of Bartharakla Chaubepur in Varanasi district, in Uttar Pradesh has filed a charge sheet in the court of Judicial Magistrate (III) Divakar Kumar against Dhawan – after which Trithiya Diwakar Kumar, the judicial magistrate, lodged the complaint regarding the same against the Indian cricketer.
The Varanasi court has decided to discuss the maintainability of the complaint on February 6, 2021, whether it is worth considering or not, and if the local court finds it worthy of consideration, then the right-hander’s problems may increase more.
In the complaint, it is said that it was known from the newspapers that Dhawan had posted a picture on social media on January 23 of feeding the migratory birds in the Ganges River.
The complaint states that the boatman was fined and even the operation of his boat in the Ganga River has also been banned for three days instead of Dhawan's challan in the matter. It further claimed Dhawan violated the administration’s order and he should be summoned and punished for his deed.
