Hardik, Krunal Pandya’s father passes away due to cardiac arrest

Krunal has left the bio-bubble of Baroda team to be with his family.

Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya’s father, Himanshu Pandya, passed away on Saturday (January 16) morning due to a cardiac arrest.

Krunal, who was leading Baroda in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, has left the bio-bubble to be with his family.

Speaking to ANI, Baroda Cricket Association CEO Shishir Hattangadi confirmed about the same.

"Yes, Krunal Pandya has left the bubble. It is a personal tragedy, Baroda Cricket Association mourns this loss of Hardik and Krunal," he said.

While Krunal was captaining Baroda in the domestic T20 tournament, Hardik was spending time with family and working on his fitness after returning from the white-ball series in Australia.

Hardik Pandya was named 'Player-of-the-Series' in the three-match T20I series against Australia. India would need him to continue the same form considering major ICC tournaments are lined up for three consecutive years.
