Former Indian captain Virender Sehwag was enchanted with T Natarajan’s journey after the left-arm pacer bagged two wickets on his Test debut on the first day of the fourth Test match against Australia at Gabba, Brisbane.

T Natarajan’s rise in international cricket has been staggering and extraordinary, as he attracted a lot of eyeballs for his phenomenal death bowling skills in IPL 2020 for the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Natarajan's brilliance earned him his maiden India call-up for the Australia tour as he was added to the T20I squad after Varun Chakravarthy was ruled out with an injury.

T Natarajan, 29, was later added as the cover for pacer Navdeep Saini, who suffered back spasm, in the ODI Series and also got an opportunity to represent India in the third ODI.

Natarajan bowled an impressive spell against Australia on his T20I debut and picked up three crucial wickets. Having played a total of three T20Is, Natarajan has picked up six wickets. He also claimed two crucial wickets during his ODI debut.

With almost a dozen players from the Indian contingent sustaining injuries ahead of the fourth Test-match of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar trophy, T Natarajan was included in the Test-squad as a replacement of Umesh Yadav.

On the morning of the fourth Test match, T Natarajan was handed Test-cap, becoming the 300th player to represent India in Tests, and then later took two crucial wickets, including that of centurion Marnus Labuschagne and brought India back in the game.

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag on his Twitter handle praised Natarajan’s journey and said “Natarajan's story is a stuff dreams are made of. Feel delighted for the young man,”

T Natarajan added a unique record to his name after being included in the side for the Brisbane Test as he became the fastest player to play in all three formats for India in international cricket.

It took only 44 days for the talented fast bowler to debut in all formats of cricket for the country. No other Indian cricketer has achieved this feat in a lesser number of days.
