Sourav Ganguly thanked his friend Joydeep after getting discharged from hospital
Board of Cricket for Control in India (BCCI) President, Sourav Ganguly, on 3rd January, suffered a mild heart attack which almost shook the entire cricket fraternity.
Sourav Ganguly underwent angioplasty and had a stent installed to remove the blockage in his artery. He was under a five-day observation until today when he got the green signal for discharge by concerned Doctors.
After getting discharged from Woodlands Hospital in Kolkata, Board of Cricket for Control in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly expressed gratitude towards his childhood friend, Joydeep, for being there for him in the tough times.
"What u have done for me in the last 5 days is something I will remember for life ..have known U for 40 yrs now ..and it's gone beyond just family," Sourav Ganguly wrote on his Instagram.
The former Indian skipper, Sourav Ganguly, also thanked the medical team of the Woodlands Hospital for looking after him.
"I thank the doctors at the hospital for the treatment. I am absolutely fine. Hopefully, I will be ready to fly soon," told Sourav Ganguly to reporters.
On Tuesday, Dr. Rupali Basu, MD, and CEO of Woodlands Hospital said Ganguly will be monitored at home on a daily basis after being discharged. Sourav Ganguly, 48, will be ready for the next course of medical intervention after about 2-3 weeks, Dr. Basu explained.
