Ganguly was diagnosed with three blocked coronary arteries after which a stent was inserted in one to remove the blockage.
While informing the reporters about the health of the former India skipper, Dr. Rupali also informed that the 48-year-old Ganguly will be ready for the next course of procedures after about 2-3 weeks.
According to a report published in ANI, cardiologist Dr. Devi Shetty also met the nine-member medical board of the Woodlands Hospital attending to Ganguly and then a further course of action was decided.
Regarded as one of India’s finest captains, Sourav Ganguly’s health news has been the talk of the town for the past three days and personalities from different quarters are wishing him a speedy recovery.
Earlier on Sunday (January 3), Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Ganguly and enquired about his health. He also spoke to the BCCI chief’s wife Dona Ganguly.
Sourav Ganguly was rushed to the hospital on Saturday afternoon as he felt dizzy and experienced chest pain while working out at the gym. Following this, doctors had conducted angioplasty on him.
