Parthiv Patel announced his retirement from all formats of the game on Wednesday.
South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn congratulated former India wicket-keeper Parthiv Patel for a wonderful career. Parthiv announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on Wednesday, in a social media post.
Steyn, who has played with Parthiv in the Indian Premier League for Royal Challengers Bangalore, took to Twitter to share his message. He admitted that Patel's knowledge of the game has helped him many times.
"Congratulations on a wonderful career PP! We played in a lot of teams together and I've always enjoyed your skill with bat and gloves but your knowledge of the game is also next level, and certainly helped me many a time.
"All the best for what's to come bud, well done! @parthiv9.", he wrote for his Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate.
Parthiv played 25 Tests, 2 T20Is, and 38 ODIs for India after making a debut at the age of 17 years in 2002. He was part of the World Cup 2003 squad which reached the final of the tournament.
