Naveen-Ul-Haq and Mohammad Amir had an argument on the field on Monday.
Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi, who leads Galle Gladiators in Lanka Premier League (LPL), clarified about his conversation with Afghanistan youngster Naveen-ul-Haq.
It appeared like Afridi and Naveen had a heated argument after the match between Galle and Kandy Tuskers on Monday. But Afridi revealed he was advising the young cricketer to not indulge in abusive talks on the field.
"My advice to the young player was simple, play the game and don't indulge in abusive talk. I have friends in Afghanistan team and we have very cordial relations. Respect for teammates and opponents is the basic spirit of the game," Afridi said in a tweet.
Earlier in the same game, Naveen and Mohammad Amir had exchanged words in the 18th over of Galle's innings. Things escalated after Amir hit the Kandy pacer for a six in the last over of their innings.
