The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited applications for the post of three national selectors. The last date for submission of the applications is November 15, 2020.
The tenure of Sarandeep Singh, Devang Gandhi, and Jatin Paranjape has ended recently after the selection committee led by Sunil Joshi announced the India squad for the upcoming Australia tour.
Harvinder Singh is among other selectors – who was appointed along with Joshi by the Cricket Advisory Committee led by Madan Lal in March this year, replaced MSK Prasad and Gagan Khoda.
According to the circular issued by the BCCI, the new selectors need to have played a minimum of seven Tests or 30 first-class matches or 10 ODIs and 20 first-class games. The applicant must also have retired from the game five years back and the age should not be over 60 years.
The three outgoing selectors were part of team selection for India’s tour of Australia comprising of three ODIs, three T20Is, and four Tests from later this month.
The Indian squad will leave for Sydney, Australia from Dubai, UAE on November 11 with the tour opening ODI is set to be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground on November 27.
