Former India paceman Madan Lal rubbished rumours around his 1983 World Cup-winning skipper Kapil Dev's health, calling them "Insensitive" and "Irresponsible"

Kapil had last week undergone angioplasty after suffering a heart attack. But on Monday (November 2) morning, various tweets from unverified users spread rumours of him being shifted to the hospital again and also of his passing.

"Speculation on a colleagues health and well being is insensitive and irresponsible. Our friend, Kapil Dev is on the path to recovery and getting better each day. At a time where the family has been through stress owing to his hospitalization, please let us be sensitive," Lal tweeted amidst speculations on his friend.

In a video that came to light last Thursday (October 29), Kapil had himself confirmed that he is doing very well now and even promised to meet his '83 World Cup teammates soon.

"The weather is very pleasant and I am very eager to meet you all. I am feeling very good. Thanks to all for your wishes and concern," he had said.

"I am hoping that we all will meet pretty soon. I will try to meet you all as early as possible. We have approached the end of the year and I am confident that we will have a great start to next year. Love you all," Kapil added.

The inspirational fast bowling all-rounder played 131 Tests and 225 ODIs, taking 687 wickets and scoring 9,031 runs in international cricket. In 2010, he was inducted into the International Cricket Council's Hall of Fame for his contribution to the game.
