Former India cricketer Sadashiv Raoji Patil, who played one Test match in 1955 against New Zealand, breathed his last at the age of 86, at his residence in Kolhapur. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

He died in his sleep in the wee hours on Tuesday at his residence in Ruikar Colony in Kolhapur,” Ramesh Kadam, a former office-bearer of Kolhapur District Cricket Association, told PTI.

A fast bowling all-rounder, Patil featured in 36 First-Class matches for Maharashtra from 1952-1964, scoring 866 runs and taking 83 wickets. He had also captained Maharashtra in the Ranji Trophy. However, his international career comprised of just one Test in which he made 14 runs and picked two wickets, helping India win the match by an innings.

He also played in the Lancashire League — for Church in 1959 and for Bacup in 1961.
