The coronavirus pandemic has put the spanner into the plans of almost every cricket tournament around the world and Asia Cup, which was supposed to happen in Pakistan, will now be played at a neutral venue after BCCI ruled out Indian team traveling to the country given the political tension between the two nations.
BCCI differs with PCB over September-October window for Asia Cup
PCB chief executive Wasim Khan hoped to host this year’s event in Sri Lanka or the UAE.
It should be noted that in a report in the Indian media, a BCCI official said that September and October Window is not suitable for them and PCB should postpone PSL 6 to be held in February and March next year to host Asia Cup.
The BCCI is waiting for the ICC’s official verdict on the T20 World Cup in Australia to start preparing for the IPL 2020 which has been postponed since March 29, its original starting date.
