Kaif recalls Dhoni's achievements on India's 7th anniversary of their 2013 Champions Trophy win.
As the Indian team fans celebrate the 7th anniversary of its famous 2013 Champions Trophy triumph on Tuesday (June 23), former cricketer Mohammad Kaif has paid tribute to one of India’s greatest match-winners MS Dhoni, who contributed immensely to India cricket.
On 23 July back in 2013, India defeated England in a memorable rain-curtailed encounter final to lift their maiden ICC Champions Trophy under the iconic captain Dhoni at the Edgbaston.
The memorable Champions Trophy victory took Dhoni into history books as legendary cricketer became the only captain in the cricket history to win all major ICC trophies – 50-over World Cup in 2011, 20-over World Cup in 2007 and the Champions Trophy in 2013.
On India’s seventh anniversary of their 2013 Champions Trophy triumph, Kaif also remembered Team India’s historical win while paying tribute to the legendary captain Dhoni.
The former cricketer shared a collage of Dhoni posing with all the three ICC trophies on his Twitter handle and lauded the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman for his achievements both as a player and captain.

He also believes that Dhoni still has a 'lot to offer' to the Indian cricket amidst the whole world continues to dwell on his retirement as he has been out of action since the 2019 World Cup in England.
Kaif wrote on Twitter on Tuesday: “On this day, 7 years back, MS Dhoni became the first captain to win all three ICC Trophies--Champions Trophy (2013), World Cup (2011) & WT20 (2007). Fine captain & a champion player. One of India's greatest match-winners. I feel he still has a lot to offer to Indian cricket @msdhoni”
Noteworthy, Dhoni was due to return to cricket with the Indian Premier League (IPL), but the IPL 2020 has been postponed indefinitely due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
