We all know the life story of Indian captain Virat Kohli and how his father played an important role in him becoming a successful sportsperson. Unfortunately, his dad Prem Kohli didn’t see his son becoming one of India’s most loved and popular cricketers.

Prem Kohli passed away in 2006 when Virat was in his teens and as it has been shared multiple times, he was playing a match for Delhi. He performed his father’s last rites and came back to resume his innings the next day, helping his team. His coach and teammates lauded Kohli for his determination and will power.

Indian cricketers celebrate Father’s Day and salute the spirit of dads

Kohli still misses his father and has said in interviews that he regrets that he is not able to give his father a great and comfortable life after retirement, something that he richly deserved, due to his untimely demise.

Today, on Father’s day, Virat shared an old photo of him along with his dad somewhere on vacation and posted it on his Instagram account with a heartfelt caption.

This father's day, I urge you all to be grateful for the love of your father but always look for your own path to move forward in life. You'll never have to look behind because they're always watching over you whether they're physically there or not. Happy father's day ????????,” the caption read.
