India to play a day-night Test against Australia in Adelaide Oval during their 2020-21 tour down under.
He called Indian captain Virat Kohli his dream wicket and said, "I don't like bowling that much. Every now and then, it's fine. If I am bowling in a game, that means we're in trouble. So hopefully, it doesn't happen too often. You always like to get the best out, why not Virat?"
Virat Kohli unsure how new changes in cricket will work post COVID-19
He praised his rival batsman a lot and further added, "Look, I admire Virat a lot. He is an amazing player. You look at his record now, simply incredible. He's done so much for India in cricket. The way they play their game now, the sheer passion he has got for Indian cricket. His willingness to improve and get better. You can see his body has sort of transformed over time. He is so fit and strong now and powerful. He is pretty amazing for cricket.”
The two teams are set to face one another in Australia for a full-series despite the hanging threat of the Coronavirus pandemic. India is to tour Australia for 3 ODIs, 3 T20Is, and four Test matches, and this time they will face a full-strength Aussies with Steve Smith and David Warner in the playing XI.
This will also be the first time the two teams will engage in a pink ball day-night Test, to be played at the Adelaide Oval.
“We played a few more pink ball games, perhaps, than India which might be a slight advantage. India played pretty well in the day-night game they played at Kolkata. It's a different game but they certainly got the batters that can stand up to the conditions when it gets tough with the Pink Ball. And their bowlers, they stand the seam up with quality,” Smith said.
"They are world-class players who are able to adapt to anything, so I see it being a pretty amazing contest," he added.
