Sandhu is Indian football team's goalkeeper and has received Arjuna Award.
India's football team goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu made a surprising revelation for fans on Wednesday. He posted a picture of him from childhood and one would find it difficult to recognize him because Gurpreet was carrying a cricket kit bag.
The 28-year-old footballer revealed he has a similar journey to India cricketer MS Dhoni but in the opposite.

Starting as a cricketer, Gurpreet ended up becoming a footballer, while Dhoni had picked goalkeeping in schooldays but destiny had something else for him. “While MS Dhoni wanted to be a goalkeeper, I had other plans as a kid.”, he wrote.
The official Twitter account of Indian Football responded to the tweet with a picture of him receiving the Arjuna Award from India's President Ram Nath Kovind.
"We guess it worked out perfectly in the end," they replied.
Gurpreet is the fourth goalkeeper to receive the prestigious Arjuna Award and overall 26th Indian footballer.
