The incident happened in 2010 during a India and Pakistan match.
Former India batsman Gautam Gambhir and Pakistan's Kamran Akmal had clashed during the Asia Cup 2010 match. The two cricketers were seen in a heated exchange of words and umpires had to interrupt.
Speaking in a chat show ‘Cow Corner Chronicles’, Akmal shed light on the incident. “It was all due to misunderstanding and happened in the heat of the moment then. Gautam and I are good friends because we have played a lot in ‘A’ cricket. We meet regularly, have food together,” Akmal said about his clash with Gambhir.

Kamran had another altercation with India pacer Ishant Sharma in T20 international in Bengaluru in 2012-13.
Talking about it, he said, ”It was all due to me not understanding what he said. The same with Ishant at Bangalore. You know me I don’t say much on the field. Both Gautam and Ishant are very good boys. We respect them and they respect us. What happens on the field, stays there."
Both Ishant and Kamran were fined after being found guilty of Level 1 breaches of the ICC Code of Code.
