Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has been quite vocal on social media since his retirement. He has been giving his opinion on almost everything that is going about in the world. He now believes that both IPL and T20 World Cup will not be possible this year because of the Coronavirus.

All major cricket tournaments have either been postponed or called off because of the Coronavirus pandemic. The IPL has been postponed indefinitely but Cricket Australia (CA) is confident that they will be able to host the T20 World Cup in October. Shoaib Akhtar has a different opinion on the T20 World Cup.

Yuzvendra Chahal wants cricket to resume with IPL first to begin preparations for other tournaments

T20 World Cup, starting October 18 is likely to be postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. I also feel that there will be no IPL this year due to the pandemic. But this break is the best time for the cricketers to work on their immune system and get back with the same intensity and vigor when the sporting action resumes,” he said on the HELO app.

Akhtar had also called for a bilateral series between India and Pakistan to raise funds to fight against the pandemic. He still wants to see such a bilateral series and also appreciated the Indian Prime Minister for enforcing a lockdown.

He said, “It is high time when we can have a good bilateral relationship between India and Pakistan through sport. Lockdown was the best decision taken by the Modi-led government in India. That is the only way you can contain a pandemic like this.
