Shahid Afridi rues his rivalry with Virat Kohli began late; lauds MS Dhoni as “Hitter, finisher, keeper, soldier”

Afridi was all praises for Kohli and Dhoni in his book 'Game Changer'.

Shahid Afridi seemed to have praised many Indian players in his autobiography ‘Game Changer’. The former Pakistani captain had a fulfilling career from 1996- 2018 and has seen generations of players come and go in the international circuit.

One such player he talks about in the book is current Indian captain Virat Kohli and he rues that Kohli reached his peak with the bat, when his bowling was at its lowest and declining. “A new rivalry developed over my last years. Virat Kohli versus me. His batting was peaking when my bowling career was culminating,” he writes.

Kohli has become the modern equivalent of Sachin Tendulkar for Indian fans both in terms of matches he has won for the Men in Blue and records he has been creating at the speed of nauts.

Afridi also praised the former India captain MS Dhoni, and named him the wicketkeeper of his ‘all-time best India Pakistan XI’. Afridi called the only captain in the world to win all the three ICC trophies- the T20 World Cup, the World Cup, and the Champions Trophy, as “Hitter, finisher, keeper, and soldier”
