COVID-19 positive cases are about to cross 200 mark in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Thursday (April 9) handed over LKR 25 million to the COVID-19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund as announced earlier to fight the ongoing health crisis in the country.
As the Island nation suffers the impact of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the SLC has extended their hand to help the country in the time of crisis caused by the novel COVID-19, as the board had announced the donation last month to fight the pandemic.

SLC President Shammi Silva – who was accompanied by national Test and ODI skipper Dimuth Karunaratne and T20I captain Lasith Malinga handed over LKR 25 million to Sri Lanka President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the President's Office on Friday.
Meanwhile, Minister of Education, Sports, and Youth Affairs Dullas Alahapperuma were also present on the occasion.

Taking to Twitter on Friday (April 10), the SLC announced the same. The post reads: “Sri Lanka Cricket handed over LKR 25 million to the COVID-19 Healthcare and Social Security Fund as announced earlier. The grant was handed over by SLC President Shammi Silva to His Excellency the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the President's Office on March 09.”
Noteworthy, the total number of the novel Coronavirus cases in Sri Lanka reached 197 with 7 deaths till now while deadly virus has infected around 1.6 million people and claimed over 100,000 lives globally so far.
Earlier, the SLC had postponed all domestic tournaments until further notice, and advised all its players and employees to remain indoors while the South Asian country also implemented the two-week lockdown last month to prevent the spread of the deadly virus amid the ongoing outbreak.
