PM had shared a video message to the nation on 3rd April and urged everyone to turn off their lights for nine minutes at 09:00 pm on April 5 and light a candle or a diya.

Many followed his message, but some also ended up taking things to the extreme by bursting firecrackers.
Former India cricketer and BJP MP Gautam Gambhir were disappointed with the action of people. He expressed his displeasure over people bursting crackers at this time when the country is in a bad situation fighting against COVID-19.
"INDIA, STAY INSIDE! We are still in the middle of a fight, Not an occasion to burst crackers! #IndiaFightsCorona", he wrote.
