Heather Knight is also following personalised programme.
As the entire world battles the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic that brings all cricketing activities to a halt, England Test captain Joe Root is still following his training regime even though no one knows when the cricket season will resume, not only in the UK but globally.

Recently, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced that they are expecting a seven-week delay ahead of the start of 2020 season, but on Tuesday (March 24) said there "is uncertainty surrounding when, or if, the domestic and international summer will start" after the UK witnessed a shocking rise in the COVID-19 cases with now the death toll standing at 422 till now.
However, England's centrally contracted men's and women's players have been given an individualized training programme and Root is still following personalised routine and programmes despite him being in isolation at the moment when the entire world is locked down.
Root opened up about the same: “While it has been good to get some downtime after our return from Sri Lanka, keeping my fitness up is really important so I can be at the top of my game when we get back on the field. I'm an active person anyway, with my young son keeping me busy, but having a structured plan will help me improve in certain areas.”
The 29-year-old added, “We'd obviously much rather be playing cricket right now, but this gives us an opportunity to recover from a demanding past 12 months and get our bodies in good shape for when matches resume.”
Meanwhile England Women captain Heather Knight is also following her routine, saying: “It's obviously not ideal but it's a great way of trying to stay in shape and keep ticking over.”
She signed off by saying, “This is a new challenge -- we'll all just be doing what we can to maintain our levels and hopefully be as ready as we can when we get back playing, whenever that comes.”
Noteworthy, the UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced strict new measures to prevent the spread of deadly COVID-19 – which has infected over 4 Lakh people and killed near 19000 globally till now after the country recorded the total number of 8,077 positive cases till March 24.
The UK government was also forced to lock down the country, banning public gatherings of more than two people as well as requesting the people to avoid "non-essential contact" and stay at home, in order to tackle the spread of the fast-growing virus in the country.
