As the number of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection cases are growing very fast in the densely populated India, Harsha Bhogle, a well-known Indian cricket commentator and author, has lashed out at some irresponsible people for continuing to engage in social gatherings despite knowing that the deadly virus is continually wreaking havoc throughout the world.

India witnessed a sudden spike in the numbers of COVID-19 over the last couple of days with the figures of infected people jumped to 258 with 2 deaths till now – which forced the Indian government to lock down major states as well as to cancel the visas for the national foreigners from now.

Given such scary circumstances in the country, Bhogle took to Twitter to voice his frustration for ignoring the current situation and slammed people for going out and partying amid the deadly outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic across the globe.

Taking to Twitter on Friday (March 20), Harsha said some people are trying hard to control the current situation and the spread of the deadly virus, but some stupid peoples who are coming from infected areas are partying instead of self-isolating themselves despite testing positive for COVID-19.

In a tweet, Bhogle further added that such selfish acts of a few people are enough to bring down the fight against the global pandemic while urging all to stay vigilant and come together to defeat it.

He wrote on Twitter: “It is so disappointing when so many people are trying so hard and stupid, literate people coming from infected areas go around partying. A million people can do right but it requires a few silly people to lose the fight. Let us stay vigilant. We are in this together.”

It seems that Bhogle was indirectly attacking at the Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor who was partying and hobnobbing with politicians and family in Uttar Pradesh despite testing positive for the virus.

She engrailed herself in the controversy for negligence and disobedience to the order issued by the government as she was seen attending at least 3 parties in Lucknow after returning from London last week and came into the contact of around 400 people who all may also be victims of this disease.
