Sarfaraz was sacked as Pakistan captain in all formats recently by PCB.
Head coach-chief selector Misbah-Ul-Haq has decided to move on to Muhammad Rizwan, who will travel to Australia for the T20I series, as he prepares for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Talking to Deccan Chronicle, over the telephone from Karachi, she said, "No, neither I nor my husband is disappointed. It is Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) decision and we have to respect it. We knew this (sacking) three days ago. It is not the end of the road for him. He will be able to play burden-free now.”
On being asked whether the now-former captain is thinking of quitting the game, Khushbaht refuted the rumors and compared him to MS Dhoni, who at the age of 38 has still not given up international cricket. She said, “Why should he retire now? He is only 32. How old is Dhoni? Has he retired at his current age? My husband will make a strong come back. He is a fighter and will come back.”
She also revealed that Sarfaraz and her were expecting a second child in February.
