After the India women’s team won the 6-match T20I series against South Africa women 3-1, the hype for the ODI series was being built up given that many of the 50-over stars would be featuring from both sides.

However, the Indian team has been dealt a big blow as star opener Smriti Mandhana has been ruled out after suffering from an injury during practice as per reports of Women’s Criczone. Mandhana got hurt two days ago, and a replacement will be announced shortly.

The three-match series, a part of the ICC Women’s Championship, begins from Wednesday in Vadodara. It was expected that Mandhana would get back to form given her uncharacteristically low scores in the 20-over international series against South Africa.
