Ireland wins T20I tri-series by beating Scotland by one run in a thriller

Kevin O'Brien made 63 for Ireland while Berrington top scored with 76 for Scotland.

The 6th and final match of the Ireland tri-series was played between the hosts and Scotland in a winner take all battle. Scotland captain Richard Berrington won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Kevin O’Brien hit 63 with 4 sixes and 3 fours, while Gary Wilson made 31 and Gareth Delaney made 25 with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Contributions from others helped Ireland to 186/9 in 20 overs. For Scotland Adrian Neill, Safyaan Sharif, Hamza Tahir, and Tom Sole picked two wickets apiece.

Scotland’s reply was based on just two innings. Matthew Cross made 66* with 6 fours and 3 sixes, while Richie Berrington made 76 with 7 fours and 5 sixes. However, the Scots fell short for by one run in what was a virtual final of the tri-nation tri-series. Mark Adair picked 2/30 in four overs for Ireland.

This was a winner takes all match and Ireland won the T20I tri-series by winning this match.
