Karun Nair failed to add to his 78 as he fell to Mulder, however, skipper Wriddhiman Saha made 60 and got great support from Shivam Dube (68 with 10 fours and 1 six) and Jalaj Saxena, who made 48*. Even Umesh Yadav made 24 in just 13 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes as India A made 417 runs.

For South Africa A, Wiaan Mulder picked 3/47 and Dane Piedt scalped 3/78; while Philander, Ngidi, and Simpala picked one wicket each.

But then Indian spinners Shahbaz Nadeem and Kuldeep Yadav bamboozled the Proteas batsmen. Nadeem removed De Bruyn and Zondo; while Kuldeep took care of Muthuswamy and Klaasen.
