Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced a list of 20 probable players as they are scheduled to host Sri Lanka for a three-match T20I series and a three-match ODI series. This list shocked everyone as big names like Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik were omitted.

After releasing the list of probable players, a press release by the board said, “Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik have not been named in the probables as they have been granted NOC until October 12 to participate in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

The Green Army will be lead by skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed with Babar Azam as his deputy in both series. Misbah-ul-Haq will announce the squads at the Gaddafi Stadium on September 23. The ODI side will travel to Karachi on September 24 for the three-match series which kicks off on September 27.
