Saifuddin and Shakib removed the openers cheaply and even Tarakai fell for 11 runs. But Asghar Afghan made 40 with 2 sixes and 3 fours and Mohammad Nabi came to the party with a scintillating 84* off 54 balls with 7 sixes and 3 fours, taking his team to 164/6 in 20 overs.
In reply, Mujeeb Ur Rahman kept pegging wickets as no Bangladesh batsman could stay on the crease. Mahmudullah top-scored with 44 and Sabbir made 24, but Mujeeb’s 4/15 and two wickets each from Rashid and Gulbadin Naib meant that Bangladesh could only manage 139 runs.
