Sachin Tendulkar remembers the great Sir Don Bradman on his 111th birth anniversary

Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar paid a tribute to the late Sir Don Bradman on the occasion of his 111th birth anniversary on Thursday, 27th August.

Bradman is widely considered as the greatest batsman ever to have played cricket, as well as, famously remembered as the best Test batsman of the 20th century with a near-century average in the longest format of the game over a 20-year playing career from 1928 to 1948.

The Australian cricket icon, who was born in Cootamundra, on 27th August, 1908, is not only known for the sheer weight of statistics but also an enduring legacy of greatness and this time Indian batting legend recalled the legend for his nature and "sense of humour".

Taking to Twitter, on the occasion of on Bradman’s birth anniversary, Tendulkar, himself one of the greatest cricketers ever produced, shared a heartwarming post for the legend.

In his post, Tendulkar remembers Don for his graciousness and sense of humour, rather than just his extraordinary batting while recalling his meeting with the Aussie great during India’s tour of Australia in 1998-99.

He wrote on Twitter, “A lot of people remember Sir Don Bradman for his extraordinary batting; I remember him more for his graciousness and sense of humour that I experienced when I had the privilege of spending some time with him in 1998,”
