Belagavi Panthers and Bengaluru Blasters locked horns with each other in the 14th match of Karnataka Premier League (KPL) 2019 at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru on Friday (August 23).

Opting to bowl first, Panthers restricted Blasters to a paltry 110/8 in 20 overs on the back of outstanding spells from MB Darshan (3/27) Ritesh Bhatkal (2/7) and Zahoor Farooqui (2/23).

It was an abysmal batting performance from the Blasters as none of the batters managed to cross the 35-run mark.

In reply, Belagavi lost both their openers, Ravikumar Samarth (5) and Dikshanshu Negi (18), cheaply. But India star Manish Pandey continued from where he left against the Hubli Tigers a couple of days back.

Pandey, who struck 102* off 50 balls against the Tigers, finished with 58 not out off 30 balls (4 fours and 4 sixes) and added an unbeaten 76-run stand with Abhinav Manohar (22*) to guide his team over the line with 8 wickets and 49 balls to spare.

Brief Scores:

Bengaluru Blasters – 110/8 in 20 overs (BR Sharath 32; MB Darshan 3/27) lost to Belagavi Panthers – 115/2 in 11.5 overs (Manish Pandey 58*; Bharath Dhuri 1/8) by 8 wickets
