Former South Africa player Jonty Rhodes was among the candidates who appeared for interviews to find a place in Team India's support staff beyond the ongoing tour of West Indies this Tuesday (August 20).

The MSK Prasad-led national selection panel interviewed about 18 individuals for the post of batting, bowling and fielding coaches on Monday and the process was swiftly resumed the next day.

Regarding Jonty, it is understood, he gave his presentation via skype and so did Bharat Arun, R Sridhar and Sanjay Bangar, who were given a 45-day extension at their jobs and a direct entry into the recruitment process.

It is learnt, Arun and Sridhar will retain their jobs for having done a very fine job with the national side, while Bangar's role is under scanner as he hasn't been able to resolve the team's batting issues across all formats.

Bangar is also facing very tough competition from Vikram Rathour and Pravin Amre among a list of various domestic veterans, including men of pedigree like Lalchand Rajput, Amol Mazumdar, Sitanshu Kotak, Mithun Manas.

The interview process will continue until Thursday when an official announcement will be made.
