England lost another pacer as 24-year-old Tom Curran has been ruled out of the remainder of the season after suffering a side injury playing for Surrey against Sussex in the Twenty20 Blast announced his county club on Saturday (August 17).

Curran was a member of the World Cup winning English squad but was unable to get a single game in the ICC mega event. He has played one first-class, two List A and ten T20 Blast matches for Surrey this season, taking 26 wickets in total.

The right-arm fast bowling all-rounder born in Cape Town, South Africa has appeared in 17 ODIs for England and has 178 runs to go with 27 wickets to his name. When it comes to the longest format of the game, Test cricket, Curran has just played 2 matches and has 66 runs and 2 wickets.

The South Africa born English all-rounder who played for Kolkata Knight Riders in last year’s edition of IPL, will now undergo a period of rehabilitation ahead of England’s off-season tours of New Zealand and South Africa, which he will aim to participate in if selected.
