Tendulkar was inducted into the ICC hall of Fame.
Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar who made his international debut at the age of 16, became the latest cricketer to get inducted into the ICC hall of fame. From being the youngest batsman to score an international fifty to the only batsman with 100 international centuries, Tendulkar laid the foundation of modern-day batting.
The 46-year-old became the sixth Indian to feature into ICC hall of fame following Bishan Singh Bedi, Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Anil Kumble, and Rahul Dravid.
Waqar Younis, the former Pakistan captain, who got the wicket of Tendulkar in his first game at Sialkot congratulated the latter and acknowledged that the knocks little innings in his first ever test match and a century against the Green Army at Chennai in 1999 were simply unforgettable for him.
In the 1989 test, Tendulkar batted at No.6 in the first innings and managed to get only 15 runs off 24 balls which included 2 boundaries before getting cleaned up by Waqar Younis. He thought his international career was over but little did he know he would go on to score 100 tons for the country.
In 1999, India took on Pakistan in a 2 match Test series. This time, the master batted at No.4 and ended up scoring a fantastic 136 off 273 deliveries in the first game in Chennai, which included 18 boundaries which took the Indian team very close to winning the game.
