Kuldeep Yadav beat out the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Trent Boult and Billy Stanlake for the awards.
The first award he won was for the best ODI bowling performance of the year for his 6/25 against England at the Nottingham. England had made two consecutive scores of over 400 at Trent Bridge before this game- 481 and 444 - both new world records for the format.
Despite the signals, Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bowl first and his bowlers repaid his belief in them. Kuldeep was playing his first ODI match in England and he led the charge with his best bowling figures of 6/25 which included wickets of Roy, Bairstow, Root, Stokes, Buttler, and Willey and kept England to 268. India chased down the score with ease as Rohit slammed 137* and Kohli made a sublime 75.
Kuldeep beat out Adil Rashid (3/27 vs India) and Trent Boult (5/17 vs Pakistan) for the award.
Kuldeep also won the best T20I bowling performance of the year award, which came against England on the same tour, where he picked 5/27 in the first T20I at Lord’s.
England batted first after being invited to do so and was going great guns with Buttler making 69 and Roy making 30. But then Kuldeep wielded his magic by picking wickets of Buttler, Hales, Morgan, Bairstow, and Root, breaking the backbone of England team and stalling them for 159/8.
India again won the match thanks to a second T20I century from KL Rahul, who made 101*.
Kuldeep beat out Billy Stanlake (4/8 vs Pakistan) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (5/24 vs South Africa) for the award for best T20I bowling performance.
