Chahal is excited to be part of his very first World Cup.
Chahal in an interview with Hindustantimes.com revealed some aspects of his game and how he gels with the Indian team. He revealed that he calls the senior members of the team as ‘bhaiya’ or ‘bhai’ – be it in an informal setting or during official interactions.
Though the bromance between Chahal and Rohit Sharma is famous on social media, he, however, revealed his equation is best with the senior most member of the side, former skipper MS Dhoni.
“Whenever I feel something, I always talk to the senior players — Virat (Kohli) bhaiya, Mahi (MS Dhoni) bhai, Rohit (Sharma) bhaiya, Shikhar (Dhawan) bhaiya. They always help me. When Virat bhaiya is not there, I always [speak to] Rohit bhaiya and ask him what to do and what not to do. Mahi bhai and I play PUBG together sometimes (laughs). Seven-eight people play PUBG for two hours. We go for dinners, [have] fun. It’s a big thing to play under Mahi bhai. He was my first captain. Whenever we need help in bowling, Kuldeep (Yadav) and I always ask him,” he was quoted in Hindustantimes.com.
Recently, the BCCI started airing his interview segments with other Indian players on what is known as ‘Chahal TV’ and the leg-spinner revealed how this started and has now become a big thing.
Chahal also said that his favorite Bollywood actor is Ranveer Singh, saying, “The guy (Ranveer Singh) is very bindaas. He never hides what he wants to do. I love his films.”
“I’m very excited as it will be my first World Cup. In the 50-over format, we have the best team. There will be a lot of pressure, as the whole country wants the Cup. But it’s our job to tackle the pressure,” Chahal said about the upcoming ICC event.
