England star paceman Stuart Broad on Wednesday (January 30) named Australia's fast-bowling legend Glenn McGrath as his all-time favorite Australian cricketer.

While some cricketer’s fame is limited to their nations, some have garnered popularity globally with their great feats in the game of cricket and there are quite a few in the Australian cricketing history who have made fans outside the home and McGrath is among those.

Recently, Wisden went on its official social media handle to ask non-Australian fans to name their favorite Aussie cricketer of all time and Broad, a cricketer from Australia’s arch-rivals England, was quick with his choice- named McGrath, though, some fans were not agreed with the paceman.

However, it was a quite surprising and special that an Englishman picked up a legendary counterpart from arch-rivals Australia. While it was not the first time when Broad expressed his gratitude towards the Aussie legend, as he earlier admitted that he wants to bowl like Broad.

Meanwhile, McGrath was one of Australia’s top performers of his era with 563 Test wickets, while he picked up almost 950 wickets in international cricket in his illustrious 14-year long career.

Noteworthy, Broad, who has 666 international scalps at the moment in a career spanning over 12 years, is currently in West Indies with the England squad for the Test series and could get chance to play in Antigua.
