Former India fielding coach Robin Singh has come in support of under-fire MS Dhoni. Dhoni may have been dropped from the Indian T20I side, but Robin wants him to continue till the World Cup. He is seeing him in India's ICC World Cup 2019 squad.

Dhoni was replaced by Rishabh Pant in the limited-overs series. But Singh said Pant hasn't made most of the opportunity given to him in white-ball cricket.

“Dhoni should be there (at World Cup). Those who were given opportunities have not stamped their authority,” Singh told Sport360.

Commenting more on the upcoming World Cup in England in 2019, Robin added that Indian bowlers need to pull up their socks.

Robin rates England team high and as the tournament will be played in their home, the Englishmen will have an advantage as well.

“India is one of the front-runners. England is a very good side, they have been playing very good cricket. In their conditions, they are extremely good. I played in England in 1999 and the wickets are very good for batting. What is key is bowling. To make a difference the fast bowlers will have to come into the mix,” he added.

It is often said that the Indian batting unit too much relies on the skipper Virat Kohli. Robin also commented on it and said India isn't dependent on Kohli only. They have a solid batting line-up.

“I don’t think we are depending too much on Kohli. We have enough batting to take Indian cricket forward. We won the Asia Cup in the UAE without Virat. Obviously, he is a superstar, but it is crucial that we also guide the young guys. The team’s chances are very good, they have a good chance of beating Australia,” Singh concluded.
