P Chidambaram compares Congress’ Karnataka by-poll win with Virat Kohli’s success

Congress defeated BJP 4-1 in Karnataka by-polls.

The Congress-JDS alliance in Karnataka registered a 4-1 win over BJP in the recently held by-polls in Karnataka. The byelections were held for three Lok Sabha seats -- Ballari, Mandya and Shivamogga -- and two Assembly seats -- Ramanagara and Jamkhandi.

This win by Congress over BJP was compared to a Test series cricket win by Virat Kohli by the senior Congress leader P Chidambaram in his tweet.

4-1 result (unsure about Shimoga LS) in Karnataka looks like a Test series win under Virat Kohli. Coalition has delivered.

Virat Kohli is currently resting from cricket and celebrated his 30th birthday on November 5, 2018. He will return to the game, for the T20I series against Australia later in the month.

Karnataka Congress leader and a minister in the state government, DK Shivakumar said, “This Deepavali, I thank the people of Karnataka & especially Bellary for blessing Congress party with this record victory."

Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy's wife Anita, who won from the Ramanagara Assembly constituency. State BJP chief B S Yeddyurappa's son B Y Raghavendra won from Shivamogga.
