Harbhajan Singh filed a complaint against unidentified persons who tried to take control of his property in Chandigarh's Sector 9.

The Indian cricketer met senior police officials before lodging an official complaint. He also informed the senior superintendent of police (SSP) Nilambari Jagdale about his problem.

“We are scanning the footage of various CCTV cameras installed near the house. It is being probed whether it was an attempt to forcibly take possession of the house or there was some other motive,” Jagdale said.

Harbhajan had bought the 4-Kanal palatial house back in 2007 for Rs 7 crore.

As per Hindustan Times reports, Harbhajan's brother-in-law Sahibjeet Singh said the cricketer had come there to get his house cleaned for the festival. But seeing two additional locks on the door, he was shocked.

“These two locks were not put by us. Who did it, we don’t know,” said Sahibjeet Singh. He added that they are now going to have a private guard and install CCTV cameras.

“It was a clean deal and there was no dispute with anyone when it was bought," Sahibjeet further said.

Police officials have started the investigation. “We have started the investigation in this case on the basis of a complaint submitted by Harbhajan,” they said.
