Former Pakistani explosive cricketer Shahid Afridi is popularly known as 'Boom Boom' which reflects his batting style very well. But who gave him this epithet, Afridi revealed on his Twitter account.

Afridi, during a chat session on micro-blogging site, was asked about the man who named him 'Boom Boom'. The 38-year-old said it was Ravi Shastri. The name is very popular now but only a few know about it.

The 38-year-old had a record of fastest century in ODI cricket, smashing his hundred in just 37 balls in 1996. Later, the record was broken by New Zealand batsman Corey Anderson on 1 January 2014 who hit 131* runs from 36 balls and is now held by South-African cricketer AB de Villiers who made a century from 31 balls on 18 January 2015 against West Indies.

Afridi has most sixes in international cricket. The record is jointly shared with Chris Gayle. Both have 476 sixes but not so long Gayle will take over the ex-Pakistan cricketer.
