Australian cricket was hit hard by the ball-tampering scandal, as the team got shattered after the news of Aussie players attempting an unethical way to win the game against South Africa broke out.

Cricket Australia appointed Justin Langer as the head coach after Darren Lehmann stepped down because of the sandpaper scandal.

Langer is vocal about the strictness in the players' behavior. Former Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Gilchrist said that the players need to match the standards set by Langer if they want to be in his team. They should be good enough to marry one of his daughters.

Gilchrist was talking about how disciplined one needs to be. "Langer, as you've heard, wants honesty and humility," he said in Fox Sports' 'Back Page Live'.

"Actually, I've heard him say he wants his players to be good enough blokes that he would consider allowing them to marry his daughters," Gilchrist joked.

"He's got four daughters - so that's the selection process going on," the southpaw added.

Australia's first series under Langer will be that of five ODIs in England this summer.

With captain Steve Smith and batsmen David Warner and Cameron Bancroft all banned, Langer will work with new skipper Tim Paine.
