Ireland, Netherlands, and Scotland set to play an Annual T20I Tri-series

The inauguration edition of the annual Tri-series will be held in the Netherlands from 12-20 June.

The Royal Dutch Cricket Association (KNCB) have announced on Tuesday, that Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands will contest in an annual triangular Twenty20 International series, starting June this year.

The development was the result of the three strongest European cricket countries' failure in qualifying for the next year's ICC Cricket World Cup in England.

It is learned that the inaugural edition of the annual Tri-series will be held in the Netherlands from 12-20 June, before Ireland host India for T20Is in Dublin, on 27 and 29 June.

The six-match T20I tri-series will be played at the Dutch cities of Rotterdam, Deventer, and Amstelveen this June. As per reports in ICC, KNCB said in a statement, “This tournament will become an annual event between the three strongest European cricket countries.”

Meanwhile, Netherlands’ Ryan Campbell, Scotland’s Grant Bradburn, and Ireland’s Graham Ford, coaches of the respective countries also expressed their excitement over playing an annual series, and take it as an ideal opportunity for them to sharpen their skills ahead of the 2019 World T20 Qualifiers.

12 June:  The Netherlands v Ireland, at VOC, Rotterdam

13 June:  The Netherlands v Ireland, at VOC, Rotterdam

16 June:  Ireland v Scotland, at Salland CC, Deventer

17 June:  Ireland v Scotland, at Salland CC, Deventer

19 June:  The Netherlands v Scotland, at VRA, Amstelveen

20 June:  The Netherlands v Scotland, at VRA, Amstelveen
