Ajinkya Rahane is currently with the Indian team for ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Indian Test vice captain Ajinkya Rahane’s father Madhukar Rahane was arrested by police on Friday after his car hit a woman on highway in Kolhapur. The woman was rushed to one of the local hospitals, but she succumbed to her injuries.
Reports say that 67 year old Asha Tai Kamble was struck by Madhukar Rahane’s car near the Kagal bus station on the national highway. Rahane’s father was going for vacation with his family in his Hyundai i20 car, but the driver of the vehicle was not identified in the reports.
The crowd took the injured lady to a nearby hospital, but she was pronounced dead due to her injuries. The Kolhapur Police have reportedly registered a case under IPC Act 304A, 337, 338, 279 and 184 against Rahane’s father.
Ajinkya Rahane is currently with the Indian team, which is in Vizag for the 3rd ODI against Sri Lanka.
