Rohit Yadav was part of India U19 team that was to play against Australia U19 at home.
India U19 team will play Australia A in three one-day matches and two multi-day games starting on September 18. The first multi-day match and three one-day matches will take place in Rajkot, while the second multi-day match will take place in Ahmedabad.
Tanmay Baloda of the Haryana Cricket Association was added to the Multi-Day squad, and Aryan Savsani of the Saurashtra Cricket Association was picked by the BCCI Junior Cricket Committee to replace Rohit Yadav in the India U19 One-Day team.
“Rohit, who was named in India’s U19 squads for the upcoming fixtures against Australia U19 at Rajkot and Ahmedabad, has been withdrawn from the squad due to age discrepancies,” the BCCI said in an official release.
This came after Sportstar revealed that Rohit Yadav, who plays for Bengal in domestic cricket, was banned for two years for discrepancies in his age, and only a few months had passed since he joined the U19 national team. The ban was not mentioned in the BCCI release, though.
Rohit was selected for the forthcoming series against Australia after previously traveling to Sri Lanka with the India U19 team. Rohit, a leg-spinner, was selected for the match against Australia after taking six wickets in the Youth Test against Sri Lanka U-19.
Sportstar discovered inconsistencies in his Aadhaar information during an age-verification process.
His date of birth had changed several times throughout the years, according to records. According to the same source, Rohit's birthdate was listed as July 7, 2007, when he registered with the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) in 2014. His year of birth was later changed to 2006 in a 2017 Aadhaar update, and it remained 2006 in a 2020 update.
