Carse was celebrating Durham's County Championship victory over Derbyshire when the altercation occurred, though he was ultimately released without charge.
“Following a referral from the ECB, the Cricket Regulator have confirmed that they will investigate events on Saturday night in Derby.
“Brydon Carse will no longer be available for selection for the Second Men’s Rothesay Test Match while this investigation is ongoing and the full facts are obtained,” ECB said in a statement.
Hampshire seamer Sonny Baker has been called up to fill the vacancy in England's 16-man squad. The second Test against Pakistan is slated to begin on Thursday (August 27).
Brydon Carse was already considered unlikely to start at Lord's, with team management heavily leaning toward maintaining the four-pronged pace attack (Ollie Robinson, Gus Atkinson, Jofra Archer and Josh Tongue) that dismantled Pakistan at Headingley last week. Sam Cook and Matthew Fisher remain with the squad as additional fast-bowling cover alongside Baker.
