Ravindra Jadeja will be seen in action for India in upcoming Sri Lanka Test series.
Ravindra Jadeja has done well in Tests against England, with 1257 runs and 77 wickets in 25 Tests since 2012. He also has three centuries against England, with one coming in the recent 2025 Test series in the UK.
Jadeja famously did a sword celebration with his bat when he reached a half-century or century. However, Broad believes the Indian left-hander should have limited his celebration to a three-figure score.
"His celebration used to annoy me a bit, like, what's this guy waving his bat around for a 50? I remember I used to say to him on a few occasions that batters actually average 50, and you are carrying on like this. It's flair, but I would have saved it for a hundred,” Broad said on the Love of Cricket podcast.
Overall, Ravindra Jadeja has 4095 runs and 348 wickets to his name in 89 Tests with 6 centuries, 28 fifties, 15 five-wicket hauls, and 3 ten-wicket hauls.
On the same podcast, Jos Buttler reserved high praise for Ravindra Jadeja for his talent with the bat. Buttler expressed his admiration for Jadeja's ability to stand up and deliver with the bat in big moments.
"He is a nightmare to face, especially in India. With him, I think about moments, and he's a proper gutsy player. With his batting especially, when the game was tight, he always seemed to stand up. When his team needed runs, he could do it. He had a bit of a hybrid role as well, where sometimes he would come out at 5 with the ball swinging around. He's an underrated batter in a funny way," said Buttler about Jadeja.
Broad also praised Jadeja despite his earlier criticisms of the Indian all-rounder's sword celebration.
"His numbers are phenomenal to the point where they never knew whether to play him or Ravi Ashwin in England. That's a testament to Jadeja,” he added.
Jadeja has over 7000 runs in international cricket with 634 wickets to his name. He was part of the Indian team that won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013 and 2025 and the T20 World Cup in 2024.
