Sarfaraz last represented India in a three-match home Test series against New Zealand in 2024. Despite scoring 171 runs in six innings, he was unable to secure a berth on the team following the series.
But it appears that the batter is prepared to battle for his position and has not given up.

After years of stellar domestic cricket performances, the Mumbai batter got his Test debut against England in 2024. He made his debut with two half-centuries and has since amassed 371 runs at an average of 37.10 in 11 Test innings, including three fifties and one century.
Despite having a strong start to his Test career, Sarfaraz's poor batting performance ultimately cost him a spot. He hasn't been considered in Indian teams for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, or the Sri Lanka Tests since.
Sarfaraz Khan has continued to deliver on the domestic scene with 429 runs in seven matches at an average of 53.62 in the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season.
Often criticized for his weight and heavy build, Sarfaraz Khan has also worked hard on his fitness to get an athletic look.
