England batter Jordan Cox expressed disappointment over the lack of privacy afforded to his Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) teammate and mentor, Virat Kohli, after photos of their private London meetup went viral.

The two cricketers believed they had gone unnoticed at a cafe until the images suddenly surfaced on social media.

In an interview with The Guardian, Cox highlighted the Indian superstar's struggles with overwhelming public attention away from the cricket pitch.

"The upsetting thing for him is that people are following him without him knowing. Hundreds of people walked past us, no one stopped, no one did anything. But then about two hours later he's texting me going, 'Have you seen all these photos?' I was like, 'What the hell?'" Cox said.

Jordan Cox admitted he felt sorry for the batting stalwart. "It's just a shame how many people want a piece of him. He just wants to go under the radar, have fun and live a normal life. Unfortunately, that's not always possible," he added.

Cox also pointed out that Kohli's fierce on-field persona contrasts sharply with his generous and approachable off-field demeanor.

"The thing that I found the most special during the IPL is how much time he gave me as a player and, for someone that's achieved so much, how much he gives back generally. Some guys focus on their own game, but he is someone who always wants to help others before he helps himself. That is very rare," Cox remarked.

Virat Kohli missed the ODI series against Afghanistan last month due to a hamstring injury sustained in the IPL 2026 final on May 31.

Having cleared the fitness test, the star batter is all set to return to action in the upcoming ODI series against England, slated to begin on July 14 at Edgbaston.
