KS Bharat announced his retirement from international cricket earlier this month.
Former India wicketkeeper-batter KS Bharat has relocated to Dubai to explore both short-term and long-term prospects in the UAE's cricket ecosystem, Cricbuzz reported.
Days after announcing his international retirement, Bharat was reportedly drafted into the Team Stallions squad for a domestic competition organized by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB)
Alongside this domestic stint, Bharat could be looking to register for the upcoming ILT20 (the UAE's franchise league), which is scheduled for November and December with an expected player auction in October.
"He has moved to Dubai, like many other international cricketers from different countries, and is exploring both short-term and long-term opportunities here," an Emirates cricket official told Cricbuzz.
KS Bharat made his India debut during the 2023 Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in Nagpur. He kept wickets throughout the home Test series and also featured in the 2023 World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia at The Oval.
After the BGT and the WTC Final, his final international appearance was in the home Test series against England in Visakhapatnam in February 2024.
Bharat represented India in a total of seven Test matches. Across 12 innings, he scored 221 runs at an average of 20.09, with a top score of 44.
Beyond his time in the Indian team, Bharat has been a highly experienced and reliable player for Andhra in Indian domestic cricket. He also played 10 IPL matches for two franchises—Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals.
