Sachin Tendulkar retired from international cricket in 2013 having played 200 Tests, 463 ODIs and 1 T20I.
Legendary Indian cricketer and Bharat Ratna recipient Sachin Tendulkar is celebrating his 53rd birthday on April 24, 2026. Tendulkar, who was born in 1973, was the most successful run scorer of all time, the most complete batter of his era, and possibly the greatest cricket hero in history.
Considering that he didn't score his first ODI century until his 79th match, he owns the record for most centuries in both Tests and ODIs, which is an incredible accomplishment. He is the only batter with 100 centuries in international cricket, with 49 coming in ODIs and 51 coming in Test cricket.
Sachin Tendulkar is the most prolific batter in cricket history with an incredible 34,357 international runs. He repeatedly rewrote the record books during his stellar international career, setting benchmarks that are still unmatched today.
Sachin Tendulkar started the birthday celebrations with a blessing from his mother and shared a photo with her and his wife, Anjali Tendulkar.
“Perfect start to my day with Aai, Anjali and the trouble maker! What more could a man ask for?”
Furthermore, Tendulkar was also greeted by a huge number of cricket fans who gathered outside his residence, and Tendulkar met them and also signed autographs for them.
He even cut a birthday cake outside his residence and celebrated his birthday with his fans, while they cheered his name.
Tendulkar, who turned 53 on Friday, is the greatest player in red-ball cricket with 15,921 runs, 51 hundreds, and 2,058 fours.
The 53-year-old has the longest career in ODIs, having played for more than 22 years and 91 days. Tendulkar still maintains the record for the most runs and hundreds hit in a single calendar year in the format, having amassed an incredible 1,894 runs and nine hundreds in 1998. He was also the first batter to hit a double hundred in ODIs in men's cricket in 2010.
He still plays cricket in the Legends League and is currently the coach of the Mumbai Indians team in the Indian Premier League.
